Cheyenne People
In this tribe the people were, gatherers, and hunters. The women's roles in this tribe were to cook and raise children. Also they made a form of art called pottery.Girls helped their mothers cook. Also they play with deer skin dolls. The men hunted and made weapons. Boys helped their fathers herd horses and made bows to practice their target. Children liked to go hunting and fishing with their fathers, but they did more chores than having fun.
Traditions and Beliefs
There are four important religious cerimonies, they are Mahuts, the Haxehe-vohomo ehestote also known as the new life lodge or sun dance, the Massaum known as the animal dance, Isiwun. Another tradition is medicine. There were lot's of diseases that spread through this tribe. Medicine's had herbal and root remedies and there are many other cures that included prayer and occasionally had surgery. They also had ritual purerifacation. Some of these treatments were designed to not only cure their sickness, but also to cure their spirits. The tribe also had beliefs on death and afterlife.
